My job with my client was completed. It was first of many. He has released payment of $5 but it is not showing up on my account. Where is it? My balance is showing 0$ and there's nowhere I can see that says Pending payment.

Hi Goran,
Earlier, my bonus of $25 was already shown available on my balance, however I decided to wait for my weekly income to be posted so that I can withdraw them both at the same time. However, when I was about to withdraw my earnings and bonus, the weekly earnings was the only available balance to withdraw, so I was only able to withdraw the weekly earnings and not th bonus. Where did the bonus go? How can I withdraw it? You will see on the attached picture that I was able to withdraw the weekly payment except for the bonus.

Hi Xiane,
If you will check your transaction history, you will see that the $20 bonus (after the service fees), has been carried over to the balance on your account. The invoice for your hourly contract as noted on your transaction history page is $91.33, adding the bonus of $20, the total balance is $111.33 (before the service fees were applied to the hourly contract). Once the service fees were applied (($91.33 - (91.33 x 20%) + bonus of $20), the remaining balance is at $93.06, which you have withdrawn to your Paypal account.

Hi Xiane,
I'm sorry you were confused with my reply. I noted that the final remaining balance on your Upwork account (after all the service fees were deducted), was $93.06. When you withdrew to your Paypal account, a service fee of $2.00 was charged, and the $91.06 was the amount transferred to your account.
Let me know if my explanation confuses you, and I'll ask a member of the team to reach out to you to assist you further.

Hi Xiane,
I understand why this can be a little confusing. Please know that the service fees were computed for separately, and the bonus was not included in the computation of the service fees
Computation of service fees, and final earnings on your hourly contract:
$91.33 - (91.33 x 20%)) + (bonus of $20) = $93.06
To illustrate, if the service fee was deducted from the hourly earnings and the bonus combined ($111.13), the final earning does not match the one listed on your transaction page.
$111.13-(111.13*20%) = $88.90

Look at your Reports Overview Page
You'll likely find the money under Pending. (5 day security period)

Hello Malik,
Thank you for your message.
You will need to add a card or Paypal details as your billing method if you are moving from our free Basic plan to a Plus plan. You'll pay for the first month with your billing method as any existing balance on your Upwork account can't be used in this case. You are able to use your Upwork balance when your plan renews each month. If your balance isn't sufficient, we'll charge your chosen billing method. You can refer to this Help page for more information.
Thank you.
Pradeep.

I respect upwork policies, it is an amazing platform!
But can you please decrease this 5 days policy to 3 or 2?
5 Days are way too long!

Hi Shariqq,
Thanks for your feedback! We aren’t aware of any plans to change the way payments are processed on Upwork. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to post an announcement.

It is a bit ridiculous that one must wait 14 days before a milestone payment is released (clients often do not approve until last minute, even when work is done quickly). And then one must apparently wait an additional five days for a contextually unnecessary security period when the work is complete and the client has approved. Nearly three weeks, in these cases, before you can pursue a withdrawal of funds that have been escrow since the start of the project. A security period should be limited to specific circumstances or at least ran concurrent with the other required time periods.

I just ended a task from my first client and it shows on my invoice that he already paid me but it's not showing on my profile. Should I end the contract and leave feedback first for it to show on my profile/balance or what should I do? By the way, it's a fixed-price contract.
Feb 16, 2022 09:10:49 PM by Avery O
Hi Rizza,
I looked into this for you, and I can see that the contract started this week. A contract needs to have earned at least $1 to be displayed on a freelancer's profile. As this is a fixed-price contract, payments released for this type of contract will go through a 5-day security period and will be available to you once the security period is over. Once the client's payment is processed according to the Weekly Billing Cycle, the contract will be listed on your profile.
I hope this helps!

Hi im currently working for my client for the sith week now and i have never been paid.I went to overview as directed but the results shows i i have no job in review, and i have no pending payments. What can i do to be paid

Did the client send you a contract offer? Hourly or Fixed Price contract? If hourly did you track your time with the time tracker, make adequate memos according to the tasks you are working on, and have adequate activity? If fixed price, you should see milestones set up and when you complete that milestone you submit your work and wait for payment.
I believe you may have been scammed and therefore wil not be getting paid. Did the client contract with you via Telegram or Google Meet?

Hi Lilian,
Thank you for your message. I checked the job you are referring to and noticed that we were unable to charge the client's card for the payment issued to you. Your payment will be released as soon as the client's card is charged. You may want to reach out to your client to discuss this further.
Thank you,
Pradeep

If a client has released payment for a contract, but the funds are not showing up in your account, there are a few things you can do:
Check the transaction history: Go to your Reports tab and click on "Transaction History." Look for the transaction related to the payment and check its status. If it says "Pending," the funds may take some time to clear. If it says "Failed," the payment may have been reversed, and you should contact Upwork customer support for assistance.
Check your Payment Methods: Make sure that your payment method is verified and up-to-date. If it is not, Upwork may be holding the funds until you update your payment information.
Contact Upwork customer support: If you've checked the transaction history and payment method and still don't see the funds, you should contact Upwork customer support for assistance. They will investigate the issue and help you resolve it.
It's important to note that Upwork may hold funds for a short period before releasing them to your account to ensure that there are no issues or disputes with the payment. Also, keep in mind that Upwork deducts its fees from the payment before releasing it to your account.
If you are still having trouble locating the payment, reach out to Upwork customer support for assistance.
