Hi. I am new to freelance. I got a offer from a client. She asked for my email address to send me examples of what she's wanting done as well as to add me as admin on her Facebook. I will be doing ads on Facebook for her. When I sent my email I got a violation warning. Then noticed she was restricted from the conversation. What do I do now

Hi Gail.
You should never share your contact details before the contract is in place and running. This is the violation and you can be banned from Upwork for this. Now, your Client is banned. Be careful in the future.

Hi Gail.
I am also new to Upwork. Exactly the same thing happened to me last night. Am I allowed to mention the client's name? Admin, please remove if necessary. Her name is **Edited for Community Guidelines** and she requested my email address and Facebook ID, then proceeded to WeTransfer a password-protected zip file to be extracted using WINRAR. Now that is suspicious. A few hours later, I see it says "**Edited for Community Guidelines** is currently restricted from this conversation."
I did tell her that, in accordance with Upwork's terms of use, the contract must be signed first before divulging email eddresses, etc. So, I seem to have an active contract, but I suspect a scam. I would like to name the URL / domain name where the file resides, but I don't want anybody clicking on it in case it has malware / spyware / ransomeware or some other dubious software.
What are your views on this, and is this a trend to be wary of? How do I report her (although her account is already restricted for unspecified reasons), and if so, what are the repercussions?
What are other people's experiences and views on this?
Thank you.
**Edited for Community Guidelines**

I reported it to Upwork. and they eventually got back to me and said she was banned due to other violations. So I expected it was a scam and the support team was looking after me and nipped it in the bud. we need to be careful about this. I will know better in future
