Client wants me to do some research at interview

Is it normal to do this before making a contract?

In the interview, my client said that he wants to promote his website and he wants me to identify 2 prospective URLs that might be interested in sharing this on their website. Then he asks to briefly explain why I think the prospect URL will be a good fit for them to reach out.

There are also 2 more requests related to finding the right person's contact & information from the link that he provided and give him the reason why he/she is the right person to contact

Thus, is it normal to regard this as a test? The client's history and review are great though

Don't do free work.

If the client gets 10 freelancers to send him 2 contacts and hires no one, that's 20 contracts (s)he'll get for free.
