Well, yes, that happens. Responding to invites with a brief "Thanks for the invitation and yes, I'd be interested in discussing it further" costs no connects and hardly any time.
I would never waste any of my own or the client's time by "sending reminders!"
I respond to invites and immediately forget all about them unless and until the client gets back to me.
