Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to Upwork and I accepted my first contracts this week. Althought, I have a lot of bad luck because the motherboard of my PC just burned today.
So I told my clients the problems and one of them closed the contracts as I wanted.
But I was wondering is the impact of closing a contract like that.
Is it bad for my profile already ? Because sadly there's nothing I can do about it 😞
Cheers

Valentin,
You don't have a choice about closing the contract.
If you can't do the work, you need to close the contract.
The good thing is that the client doesn't actually care if you do this work.
He needs somebody to do this work. But he doesn't care if the person who does that work is you or someone else.
So by notifying him and letting him assign someone else, you are helping him.
Let's hope he understands that and doesn't leave negative feedback.
Or doesn't leave any feedback.

Only if they leave bad private feedback.
