Is it legal to communicate with the client on monday.com ? client asked for that.

Of course. You may communicate with your clients whichever way you like. It's only payment that must be done via the platform.

This is an intriguing question.   I have responded to this several times tonight: it seems to be a common but important question. Here's the summary:

 

1. Keep financial and delivery matters (financial) "on Upwork".  Their email thread is suited for this.

2. Be happy a client wants to integrate you into Monday.com.  That is a collabortive group support solution, with some workflow, some other goodies.  Get inside that, cement the client work.

3. Ask for an account, indicate this is value-add work, include it in your billings and be locked in for a long time to come.

Understood -- this question is from a contractor making sure they stay in the guidelines.  Respected and admired.

Keep your business on Upwork and lock the client down with their collaborative solution.
