Communication outside Upwork?

Hello guys! 

I've been working for a while with a client on few projects. Yesterday, client asked if I could discuss a new project over zoom meeting. We didn't start the new project tho, we're talking in an old project messages. 

Is communication beyond Upwork forbitten and punishable?

I feel more secure with communication on Upwork tho, and I will ask for the communication to stay on site, but I would like to hear from you guys on this topic.

Communicating outside Upwork is fine - provided you already have a contract with the client.

Since you've already had contracts with the client on Upwork, you can talk with them anyway you want, including Zoom.
