Connects | Bidding | Proppsals

Dear fellow freelancers,

I am a newbie on upwork and am quite confused about the concept of bidding a high number of connects on each job posting.

Is it really worth it to spend a heavy amount on purchasing connects each month and bidding with high number of connects?

Does a proposal stand a chance of being viewed or interviewed if it has not done bidding ?

Looking forward to hear your opinions on the matter!

Thankyou.

Does a proposal stand a chance of being viewed or interviewed if it has not done bidding ? it has pretty much the same chance as if you bid on it, I have not seen any difference between bidding or no bidding, all I know is every month I am getting fewer and fewer jobs and spending more money...

Emaan, you need to think of bidding for proposals as a business cost... There will be instances where bidding is worthwhile and others where it would be a waste of time and connects. Fact of the matter is that you do not have any jobs as of yet, so getting exposure to your profile by boosting your proposals will actually be a smart thing to do as it will allow a client the opportunity to have a higher likelihood of viewing your application.

The problem with the above is a view is simply not enough, you are looking for a conversion right? So to convert a client, you need to appear to be the OBVIOUS BEST CHOICE and how do you do that? Spend time optimizing your profile from what I saw, you do not even have a picture of yourself and I can tell you, you will not get a job like that and I think it is against the TOS as well. CORRECT IT NOW.

Take some clasess on optimizing your profile and you will not only have a great profile, but you might get invited to more gigs. IF you get invited... you will not need to pay any connects for an opportunity at a job.
