Connects as a beginer

Hello, Upwork Community!

Upwork is new to me, and I can not wait to begin submitting proposals! I thought I'd receive some free connects, but I didn't receive them, or they don't appear on my profile. I currently have a balance of 0. Since I’m just getting started, I’m exploring different ways to earn connects without making a purchase. Any advice from fellow freelancers on how to get free connects as a beginner would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to learning and growing with all of you. 😊

For the connects you receive 10 connects monthly for free other than that the only way to get them is to purchase them as far as I know.

Thanks for letting me know! I was actually wondering about that since I didn’t receive the 10 free connects. My profile is 100% complete, so I’m just trying to figure out why they haven’t shown up yet. Any tips or insight would be super helpful , thank you! 😊

aside for the connects you can work on your portfolio and try to apply for rising talent It will help immensely for your account to grow.

You need to buy Connects or subscribe to Freelancer Plus plan first, then you get free Connects and start getting the 10 monthly free Connects of the Basic plan. But it must start by a purchase.

I was looking around the website and I think it is possible to make connections with the "Create your first fixed-price project" feature.

It says there's no tokens needed for this, but the client would have to find you. 😎

Hmm, that’s an interesting approach, Dan! Setting up a "fixed-price project" might be a smart way to attract clients without using connects.  Have you had any luck so far with getting your first connect using this method? 😊
