I submitted two proposals, but just as I clicked 'submit proposal,' I found myself outside of the top four bidding positions. However, I still haven't received my boosted connects back.

You register the account, and you will get around 50 connects free, but you need to buy 100 connects first for 15$ and VAT, then Upwork will provide you 100 connects you have just bought, and 50 connects free. You will have a total 150 connects to send proposals.

I am not new on Upwork. I am associated with Upwork since 2010 when it was called elance. In those days we were made to feel a part of elance family as there were no restrictions on the number of proposals you could apply for and you dint have to BUY connects. I am sorry to notice that I have not received my free connects for this billing cycle. It seems Upwork does not value talent and is only after the money that it can mint from both clients as well as from freelancers. ANYONE LISTENING?

Normal, we buy first Connects which date, you will receive free Connects monthly at that date in next month. (Free 10 connects monthly)
If you are Plus member monthly, you first update which date then free connects within monthly will be allocate as per the rate of 10 connects and the number of days in the first month.
I got and thought like this. How about you?

decided to join a platform as a video editor i had to open a bank account. Well i thiught finding a job could be easy well turned out no i used all my 50 connects and none of the clients replied plus i tried to withdraw the proposal they dont give you back a part of the connects now i dont know how i am supposed to get clients or anything if some1 knows a trick or help plz reply

Freelancing means you have to pay for everything, including connecting to the client. If you don't have the money, freelancing won't work for you, and you should probably focus on employment. I'm not dismissing you, I am telling you the truth.

Being a freelancer means spending money. If you need money maybe you should start with a normal job and invest what you earn here. If you don't buy connects you can't send proposals or respond to invitations (which was previously free).
I think that before continuing to send proposals you should do something with your profile, now it is nothing and can be a good hook for scammers.

Well, that's what it is. You can look for other job portals.
Before creating the profile, perhaps you should have read how it works and what costs it entails.
Get used to the idea that if you don't invest in connects, you won't get a job and for the invitation now also have to spend connects if you accept it.

How I know reason why Connects used and Proposals were sent without any feedbacks' Clients?
Athrough I research, consider clients' post carefully, wrote Proposal good, all thing adapt with detail of jobs, clients require.... All things did right and matched all demand. But sending many Proposal, spending money for Connects and wait while difficult situations at the current. However we don't have any feedback or any new news from Clients make to us feel mood down. Thinking negative, limit eager to work on Upwork.

It's just the way the Upwork marketplace works. Connects are required to send proposals and to respond to invitations. When freelancers submit proposals to jobs, there are no guarantees. Clients may or may not view your proposal for a multitude of reasons, and each clients is different.
I encourage freelancers to avoid getting "hung up" on jobs or feeling down if the client doesn't respond. We can't control what clients do or don't do; we can only control our own actions. In other words, submit a great proposal and forget about it.
This is akin to what happens in the business world. Rejection is always a possiblity and must be considered or factored in when trying to grow your business.

Business alone, only me. I just want more work, no free time.
I wish each job took about 10 connections and less than. Upwork has operating funds to attract Customers to post jobs, Freelancers have more jobs and everything is happier, when the Proposal is sent and no response is received from the Customer. I think it will fair more than now. One job take over 20 Connects without any feedback and any information.

Hi Emily,
When you upgrade your account from Basic to Plus, your free Connects will be prorated. This means that we'll allocate them based on time, or specifically, on how many days have already passed during your billing cycle. You can learn more about Connects here.
