Connects

I submitted two proposals, but just as I clicked 'submit proposal,' I found myself outside of the top four bidding positions. However, I still haven't received my boosted connects back.

Hi all,

 

As a freelancer or agency, you'll use Connects to Submit Proposals and let clients know you're interested in their project. You receive ten free Connects every month at the beginning of your billing cycle and bonuses for some interviews you win. We will send you a notification in Upwork (notification bell) and an email when you earn free Connects. For more information on how this works, check out our guide here.

 

To purchase Connects, go to Settings > Membership & Connects and click on the green 'Add More Connects' button. From there, select the amount to buy and click on the 'Buy Connects' button. Please note, that if you have sufficient funds on your Upwork balance, the charge will be applied to your Upwork balance. You can check out this help article to learn about the available Billing Methods.

Hi Momin,

 

For freelancers, Connects are sold in bundles of 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 150, 200, 250, or 300. Agencies have the option to buy those bundles, as well as bundles of 150 or 300 Connects. If you’d like to purchase a specific amount not offered in a bundle, you can also use the custom input field. You can’t purchase less than 10.

 

Connects cost $0.15 (USD) each and are sold in bundles or a custom amount of your choice. To purchase additional Connects:

  1. Go to Settings > Memberships & Connects
  2. Choose Buy Connects

Once you’ve selected the bundle you wish to purchase, choose Add Connects, and we will automatically charge your account.

Here’s how billing works:

 

  1. We’ll first look to use any existing earnings balance on your Upwork account. But, if you don’t have enough of a balance to cover the entire cost, we’ll move to step 2.
  2. We’ll charge the billing method you have on file with us for the entire amount due. (In this case, if you haven’t set up a billing method yet, you’ll need to add one. Learn more about billing methods.)

The key thing to remember is that we can’t split payments between your Upwork balance and your billing method.

If you’d like to keep money in your earnings balance to cover the cost of Connects, you can set up a reserve balance that won’t be disbursed with your automatic or manual withdrawals. Learn more about setting up a reserve balance. This help article provides more information about Connects.

I not getting my monthly connect its Already 6 days after 5 september and the connect cycle still stuck at 5 september its 11 September already how to fix this

Dear Madam/ Sir
My Previous Connect was 17 then I purchased 100 and Total suppose to be 117. I applied to job with 21 connects and NET Connects suppose to be 96 but 85 showing! Why? Where are my missinng connects. Please explain.

Hello Ali,

Sometimes, the connect balance might not update instantly due to system delays or processing times. Additionally, please ensure that any applied job cost, refunds, or bonuses were reflected correctly.

 

To assist you better, I recommend checking your Connects History under your account settings, where you can track how your connects have been used, purchased, or deducted. If the issue persists and your balance is still incorrect, I suggest contacting Upwork support directly to resolve the matter.

I've seen many in my archived proposals. When I checked the job post, it doesn't show that the client hired anyone for the job post. Yet, I don't see any refunds for these.

Connects are only refunded when a client closes their job without hiring or if they violated ToS

Hello, Upwork!

 

I just added a billing method on Upwork for buying connects. I purchased 100 connects for $15. Before buying the connects, I need to verify my billing method. When verifying the billing method, Upwork deducts 2 dollars from my card.

Is it normal?

Can someone experienced member guide me on it?

Request for Connects Refund Due to Lack of Responses

Hello,

I’ve spent 200 connects, but despite reaching out to many verified clients, I haven’t received any responses. I am concerned that my connects might be wasted on projects that are not genuine. I would appreciate it if you could refund my connects so that I can use them for other jobs and projects.

I am sorry to hear about the response to your proposals and how you feel about the same. I understand the frustration and inconvenience this may have caused to you. 

 

I regret to inform you that Connects are not refunded if you do not receive responses to your proposals. Connects are refunded only when a client removes the job without hiring or when Upwork removes it for a TOS violation. You can refer to this help page for more information.

Why is it necessary to create connects if you get a commission out of every single job?

What's worse is that some jobs are worth less than the connect value requested...

A very well addressed concern. First, commission is charged on the freelamcer's earnings. Then connects are taken from each bid. Then connects are required for boosting bids. Then connects are required for interview availability. Then connects are required profile boosting. Commissions are also charged on income withdrawal. Wow!!!! This is paradise for Upwork.

Dear Upwork,

After paying 15$ at Upwork in order to start freelancing, I was about to get 10 free connects as Free Basic Plan user. Now the free basic plan isn't showing about monthly free 10 connects and I didn't recieve my month free 10 connects. 

Please do something about it.

The free monthly Connects are credited to your Upwork account within 24-48 hours after the start of each billing cycle. You can check the billing cycle date on the Membership & Connects page.

Thank you for your follow-up message. I checked and see that you are subscribed to Freelancer Basic plan, which is a free plan and comes with 10 free Connects each month.
