Solved: Contact client outside Upwork chat services

I have been asked by a client to contact on his personal email ID regarding the project. Should I proceed, or ask to use Upwork chat services. Please advise

Only use Upwork services unless you have already started a contract with the client. Contacting them off the site before a contract is started is against ToS and can get you suspended from the site. After a contract is started, you are free to use any form of contact.

This person is a scammer and is violating Upwork terms requesting that you contact them outside of Upwork.

Block this person, and notify Upwork.

Communicating outside the platform before a contract is placed is against the Upwork TOS. You might want to check out the information here to learn more about staying safe on Upwork.
