Hi everyone, need your help on this matter.
I have already done work for a new client for 1 hour and billed them for the 1 hour as agreed. Yesterday I received an email that Upwork suspended my contract with this client. I haven't closed out the contract yet as I think this should be done by the client in order to get feedback. Should I initiate ending the contract with them (and get payment & feedback) or wait until the suspension is resolved and then remind the client to close the contract? Upwork had responded that I will not get paid until the suspension is resolved. The client also had hired other freelancers for the same job.
Would appreciate your responses, thanks!

Did you properly track your one hour? (Not manual time, and did you have meaningful work memos and proper activity levels etc?)
In that case you are protected anyway, whether the client fixes the problem or not.

i only started the clock after our work. the client was brand new and did not send the offer until the day of the actual interview job. it was an interview to find out about technologies used in a recruiting context and the interview was scheduled separately via Skype. I didnt seen the job offer until after the skype video ended. But I do have client's email invite for the interview and screenshot of Upwork messages for this project. I even asked the client to start the contract on Upwork before we actually started the interview.

From your other post, it sounds like this was an hourly job. It also sounds like you did not have an actual offer/job. On top of all that, you started the clock (Tracker I'm assuming) after the interview. Taking that all into consideration, this client's account was suspended. Unless you had a valid contract here on Upwork, unless this client's account was verified and unless you used the Tracker I don't think you will get payment either from this client or from Upwork.
This job, 1 hour interview should have been a fixed rate job with the clients account verified and the amount of payment Fully funded into escrow.

the client had responded to Upwork and this week payment was marked as pending on Upwork. So whatever the confusion was over the hours, it has been resolved by Upwork . Thank you!

Is the contract still on hold or not? If it is still on hold it hasn't been resolved, the fact that the funds seem to be in Pending means nothing. If the matter is not resolved they won't move to Available.
