Cropping of photos on Gallery Template

Hey there! 

My portfolio photos keep getting cropped when I have them in the gallery template. 

I have reuploaded the photos and I haven't touched the recropping tool (which I have seen in some previous posts that it was a viable solution). The photos do not crop when I have it in classic mode which is good, but I would prefer to have the projects that are presentations in the gallery rather than in a classic template. Is there any way to not have the images be cropped?

I have sent in screenshots of both in the gallery preview and also in the classic template.

Hi Madison,

Are you uploading images in portrait format? The gallery template allows for images in landscape format, so it may crop out the top and bottom parts of an image in portrait format. You may try choosing a different image that is in landscape format.

I must say new Gallery template is really bad for any photographers and photo retoucher. It crops photo and destroying our work. I hope Upwork will resolve this and let us have our portfolios look good again. I'm devistated with this new look. We need full photos on portfolio, not just parts.

I see others were having the same issue I'm having now last year, but it seems nothing has changed. Upwork is requiring that all of my portfolio images must be in a landscape format? This restriction is terrible for artists and photographers. 😞  I have pieces that are square, portrait format, etc. that I'd like to be in my portfolio-- can I really not share these images in my portfolio in gallery mode without them being cropped in an undesirable way? Or am I missing something?

Edit 2: Great, you removed the new thread. If you want to remove something, REMOVE THIS COMMENT, NOT THE NEW THREAD. I'm not going to write off-topic here about whole portfolio feature, this therad is about Gallery, which is only a way of presenting works in portfolio. My portfolio thread was not only about Gallery.

This is just ridiculous. It sounds like a joke. My image is portrait. A lot of my images are in portrait format. This is the way it was designed to be presented. It's literally worse than Instagram, while the gallery should be a place in as much control of the artist as possible. There's almost no control. I couldn't even find a way to rearrange pictures, I had to delete them and upload in the order I wanted them to be shown. Ridiculous.

Now to the subject:

 I can't believe what I see when I press "See Public View". I'm an artist. My portfolio is presented at the end of the screen, I have to scroll through all the Completed jobs to find my portfolio as THREE SMALL THUMBNAILS. Clients are supposed to browse my pictures by looking at 3 small pictures at a time! I remember it worked nicely in the past (maybe it just worked nicely on Elance). Currently portfolio presentation is really bad. There are no tabs in my profile, you try to push everything on one screen and you decided to make the most important part of an artist portfolio look that bad. Unbelievable.

In another thread about Gallery cropping portrait pictures, an Upwork Community Manager replied:

Why isn't there a separate page that displays my pictures as big thumbnails? Why the gallery is still not fixed? Does the Community Manager saying "You may try choosing a different image" has any artistic background and realize how ridiculous this suggestion is? I feel as if you're spitting in faces of people who make you money.
