Yes, You can delete a specialized profile. Just go up on your image, click on it, go to settings, In the settings select profile settings, See there is an option of specialized profiles click on three dots in front of your specialized profiles Now edit or delete your one specialized profile That's all.
Just remember you can't delete it until you should have more than two specialized profiles.

You can't delete your ONLY specialized profile. You have to have at least one.

Hi Kevin,
I'd like to confirm that Petra is right. The option to delete the specialized profile is not available if you only have one specialized profile, and this is by design. We are now encouraging users to have a specialized profile so we want to ensure everybody owns at least one. Thank you.

Ok, so I have my general profile and one specialized profile for "Presentations". How do I add images to my portfolio for a web project on my general profile that I already completed?

Is there a place we can "vote" on features or suggest added features to Upwork? The specialized profiles are great for those who need it, but if we don't want or "need" a specialized profile it's very annoying to be forced to have one and maintain it.

Agreed 100%. I'm not a fan of these specialized profiles. So we want the flexibility to handle our profiles in our own way.

Exactly !
Strongly Agree with you
now i have to maintain my general and only specialize profile too its annoying

Tayler H, I completely agree.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I want that "specialized profile" completely off MY profile, no questions asked.
Why, Upwork, Why?

Hi Muhammad,
Please note that the option to delete a Specialized Profile is no longer available unless a freelancer has at least one other Specialized Profile.
Thank you.

Specialized Profile = garbage
Can no longer edit portfolios!!!
If they wanted to make the site easier for people to use they would have added location filters, not broke the already working well enough features...

But I cant portfolio for my main account it only picks the specialised account always
Jun 4, 2021 07:06:07 AM by Emily S
So, if I don't want a specialized profile anymore and just want to maintain one main profile, I can't delete it? What are my options?
Jun 4, 2021 10:20:28 AM by Bojan S
Hi Emily,
If you only have one specialized profile, you will not see the option to delete or unpublish it. You can always edit the information for accuracy!
Thank you!

That doesn't make sense because my specialized profile is the same as my general one. What's the point exactly?

I'm skilled at "one" thing, and I'm here to do it; why do I have to have more than one profile?

Might work differently on different type of member: freelancer plus Vs freelancer. *My assumption, hope i'm wrong

ok so he missed one step
do it like this
profile setting---- Specialized profiles- click on those 3 dots--Switch Specialty--select random specialty--move nest-- close the tab leave page undone-- again visit profile setting---- Specialized profiles you will see draft written with your unedited profile. click on those 3 dots again you will see delete option.

Hi Kevin. if you have 2 Special profiles you can delete one. there you can see an option for one but at least one might be necessary.

Exactly, a delete function is not available when you have just one "Specialization" on your profile.
But I found a workaround, wich doesn't delete the " Specialization profile" but at least it doesn't show on your profile.
Here are the steps to disable it:
1. Well, you have created a "specialization profile": which you would like to delete... if the answer is yes, follow the steps.
2. Create your 2nd specialization profile and choose the option "Create from general profile" and click the "Continue" button.
3. Now select any "Specialty" you want and click the "Continue" button.
4. On "Add skills for your spacialty" page, do nothing just click on "Save & Continue" button.
5. Now you get to your "Review your profile" page, don't do anything and just click buttom left on "Save and Exit" button.
7. Now it has created a draft "Specilization profile" wich is not published to public. So it is not visible to anyone.
6. Now go to your "Profile Settings" page and find the "Specialized profiles" section, and you will see two specializations.
9. The one will show as "draft" and the other one, now you can delete that one.
10. The draft will stay there, but at least it is not showing to public, unless you will publish it again.
Hope it helps...

Did someone try this out?
How did it go?

Unfortunately, Upwork recently changed it so that people can't do this anymore.
