Deleting messages

Dear Upwork‚

I want to delete some messages so that the client can't see them. But I found out that if I delete a message then the client can see that message in his Gmail‚ is this true?

Thanks

Hi Nahid,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I would like to clarify that if the client has set an immediate email notification in the message setting and you deleted the message after 1 minute then, in this case, the client will get an email notification with the message content.

I am brand new here.  I simply want to delete messages in my "Messages" section of my account.  I'm using my smart phone.  Is there a way to delete messages??  One would think this would be super easy 🤷🏻‍:male_sign:

Hi Jeffrey,

Thank you for your message. Deleting a message from the Upwork Mobile App is very easy. Just long-press the message you wish to delete on your Upwork Mobile App to see a pop up with the Delete option.

This does not work! There is no "delete" option when long press!

Hi William,

This is Ronna, stepping in for Pradeep. I would like to let you know that by design, you can delete a message within an hour of sending it, and you’ll see a note in italics that the message was removed. If you don’t see the option to delete, it means the hour time window has passed. You can learn more by visiting this helpful page.
