Hi there!
I was active on Upwork but had become inactive for some months in between.
My accounts in Upwork shows a payment disbursed in Nov 2017 to my local bank but it never reached my account.
Also, can someone please tell me how I can get earnings certificate for Apr 2017 to Mar 2018?
Thank you,
Sheetal N

First of all, are you absolutely 100% certain it did not arrive?
In your transaction history it would be marked as having been returned had it not arrived. Money does not bounce back without a trace. It would say so in your transaction history. It would also show if it had been returned to where it came from in your transaction history.
If there is nothing around the time of the transfer the money did go to your bank account and was not returned to Upwork.
Check your bank records carefully.
If you really can't find it it is gone, it is way too late to trace it.

Sheetal:
November 2017 is a year ago.
That is a long time.
As a practical matter, a year is often too long to get money from someplace that you think owes you money, no matter where it is or who it is.
Upwork is not a bank, and because of that, it adheres to certain restrictions that prevent it from acting like a bank. It has a standard policy that if a freelancer's earnings are in their account for more than 6 months,
that money needs to be sent back to its source.
If everything worked as it normally does, then Upwork attempted to send money to your bank on year ago. If that transaction failed, the money would have been returned to Upwork, and it would have stayed in your account. Until the time came that the money had been there for 6 months, in which case the money would have been automatically returned to wherever it came from.

Hi all,
Thank you so much for replying. I had initially checked only around the date of the transaction, I checked again and realized I received the amount next week (as is the policy)!
Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

Hi Joanne,
Thank you for the answer.
I need a certificate for a specific period of time, the system gives by default for the last 4 months. How could I get that? Thanks in advance.

Hi Sheetal,
You can download your Certificate of Earnings that will show your earnings for the past 12 months. If you have any additional questions feel free to post them here, thank you.

Hi Goran,
I need the certificate from April 2017 or atleast from November 2017.
Is it possible to get it from these times as I am only getting data from December 2017 as of now.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sheetal,
You can download our Certificate of Earnings that will have the information for the past one, three, six, and 12 months based on the date selected. You can also go to Reports > Transaction History and adjust the timeline to view all of your transactions in the selected period and download the payment information there. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you!
