Different Name Payoneer Card

Can I add a different (the name is not same) name Payoneer account as a payment method?

Hi Nurulislam,

You can`t add a payment method with different name from the one you have on Upwork. Your bank account needs to be issued on your name so that you can set it up as a payment method.

 You can only add anything that is in your own, real, legal name and owned by you.

So you can not add someone else's Payoneer Card, and any mismatch could both accounts at risk, Upwork and Payoneer...

Yes you can. You have to ask the help support departmet to deactivate ur actual Payoneer account, u will have to wait a 3 days period and provide the new information

the new payoneer account is mine, but the name is different from my upwork profile name. It is the issue

 So which name is false? That on your Payoneer account, that on your Upwork account, or both?

 NO! He can categorically NOT add a Payoneer account in a different name. One of the names is false.

Your account is suspended anyway, so it is a moot point.....

No Petra, my account is not suspended, and as my Payoneer account was violated I had to close it, and Payoneer support told me that I was able to open a new one so I got in to the Upwork Support page and it says that is possible to change the Payoneer info after accomplish some requirements

Just to clarify, a freelancer can have their current Payoneer account removed from their Upwork account and add a new one as long as Payoneer unlinks the original account from Upwork. The account has to belong to the freelancer and has to be registered in the same name as their Upwork account.

Hi,

My question is kind of related to this thread. I'm not sure how to handle the situation. My upwork name is in my maiden name and by mistake, instead of linking it to my payoneer account under my maiden name, I have linked it to the one which is in my married name. Will this cause an issue? If yes, How can I go about getting this resolved please?

Hi Anna Katrina, 

You may be asked to verify your identity. Here are some ways on how you can resolve this: 

• Update your Upwork name to your married name - I suggest that you prepare the documents that will support this in case you will need to supply it during the verification process. 
• Retain your maiden name on Upwork, and disassociate your Payoneer from your Upwork account - contact Payoneer's Customer Support Team, and ask that your Upwork account be disassociated with your Upwork account. Once this is done, you can contact our Customer Support Team directly to remove your Payoneer account from your Upwork account. You can then add your Payoneer account that has your maiden name.

 1) Yours isn't. The OPs account is.

2) What does that have to do with anything at all? The OP wanted to add a Payoneer account in a different name (meaning either he was trying to add someone else's Payoneer, or had a fake profile name here and / or at Payoneer). THAT was the issue, not adding a new Payoneer account in the same name.
