Direct contract disaapeard

Hello,

Last week I sent a direct contract to a client. Before accepting, she opened an account at Upwork and could not reach the contract anymore, and neither did . I asked the client to hire me but she is not interested in doing that. What should I do now? I also need to reach the content of our agreement which took me an hour to provide. Please let me know what I can do about it. Thx

Hi Taraneh,

Thank you for reaching out. I've checked and confirmed that the Direct Contract you're referring to has expired. You can validate this by going to your Direct Contract page here.

Please remember that Direct Contracts are only with clients who do not have an Upwork account. Since the client was able to create or open an account, your best option is to get hired for their projects using their Upwork account. Please check this help article to learn more about how direct contracts work.

Thank you very much Arjay.

Yes, I understand this part. My question is when the client even after opening an account on Upwork insists on a private contract, what would be the solution?

Thank you for following up on this, Taraneh,

Generally, If you met on Upwork, it would be Circumvention not to be hired on Upwork, which is against Upwork's TOS. As mentioned above, Direct Contracts are meant for clients you meet outside of Upwork.

We suggest you check the articles shared on this thread to learn more about staying safe by getting a contract with Upwork. Additionally, You may want to check this help article and this thread for more information on how to stay safe while utilizing the platform.
