Dishonest client

I was wondering if this only happen to me or other writers experience the same thing.

I have some clients who always try to negotiate the fees of my services and then when we agree on a fee they etiher try to be difficult or try not to pay for the work done.

How do you deal with such clients.

Ive just had one. I set the price then he agreed then set a misltesone of a different price when I confronted him he said that he always do that. The work was just 1 CV so did not understand why he put a milestone then I sent him the first draft he asked me to finish it so i asked him to set the 2nd misleston if he wanted the CV to be finished. he came back with a feedback1 week later saying that the CV was not representing his personality and that he checked with his family and his family felt the same and therefore he would cancel the contract.

I told him that usualy when clients are not 100% statisfied we discuss about what need to be change etc. he just said that he did not want and cancel the contract. I beleive he is gonna use the draft  I sent him and he was just dishonest.

Sorry to hear about your issue. I see that you've reached out to our support team about this contract. Please check this link about Fixed-Price contracts. Upon checking, the contract has not ended yet, you can communicate with the client and ask politely if he can release the first milestone. Please know that that the client has 14 days from the most recent submission on a milestone to review and approve or request changes. Hope this helps.

To be honest, I think I will just wait the 14 days so the 1st mislestone is paid by Upwork. I requested the payment of the 1st milestone 9 days ago. The only thing is that if he does cancel the contract that mean I  won't get paid the 1st milestone?

The client was dishonest from the beginning and I knew something like that would happen. I should have listened to my instinct.

 I understand. In that case I would advise you to update your profile to take care of the very obvious inconsistencies on your profile (location, native language etc) and to proofread your portfolio pieces.

Sorry but I do not understand your comments which are unjustified. You do not know me so if you could go and bother others and leave me alone it would be great. I am not interested in hearing your comments.

I have cut and pasted much of your original posting above. With reference to Petra's comments, I have italicized a number of sections of your posting that are very clearly written in a style that is distinctively NOT that of a native English speaker. In addition to that, there are several other "tells" that strongly suggest that you are not a native English speaker, as you claim (e.g., spelling that is so far off the mark that the mistakes cannot be put down to simple errors of typing speed).
