Dispute - client not responding and nothing happens

I opened a dispute almost a month ago. The client is not very cooperative, takes days to respond and often has to be remided by the Mediation Specialist. The Specialist is trying his best, gives time frames within which the client should respond, but he rarely does, and all we do is wait, remind him and wait again. While we were still working together the client responded very quickly, so he's totally able. Yesterday the specialist told the client to respond "by the end of the day" or he would release the payment to me. Again, no response. The payment was not released to me with no explanation and again, all we do is wait! What's the point of time frames and deadlines if we'll just wait until the client finally responds whenever that is? How much does it take for Upwork to side with the freelancer? I don't understand.

Bit confused as to why the specialist didn't release the funds to you if he said he would?


Unfortunately, people suck. And nothing brings out the worst in most people than money. Stick it out, I guess Smiley Indifferent

This is ridiculous. The client is just stalling.
