Do I need an ABN to freelance on upwork?

Hi guys,

I am new to upwork and a bit confused on legal requirements for Australian freelancers. I am NOT GST registered and also don't have an ABN set up. Is it still possible to freelance without an ABN?

You should prove you are Australian citizenship and you should have a Fiscal code.
