Do I need to obtain more large projects in order to maintain by badge?

I get a few large projects every now and then, but obviously, the smaller sized regular projects are the common thing. Could this affect me in the long term?

Are you referring to your Top Rated badge? If so, then the size/duration of the contracts has no effect on it but only maintaining the requirement mentioned in this help article. Would you like to get a Top Rated Plus badge you'll need to have a large contract specific to your category? You can find more information here.
