Do Talent Specialists have specific prior communication with clients?

I know a lot has been said about talent specialists but I had a question about the fundamentals of the program.

I’m curious to know if clients know about the role of talent specialists and the fact that they will be reaching out to freelancers specifically on their behalf for each job post.

Most times when I receive an invitation initiated by a talent specialist, I send in my proposal and the Talent specialist then adds the client to the room before exiting.

Unfortunately, these invitations, while 99% accurately tailored to my skills, have NEVER resulted in a successful contract. As a matter of fact, NO such client has EVER gone on to even have a conversation with me.

I understand my work may not be what they’re looking for. That's fine.

But still, I can’t help but wonder if this whole situation is clear to the client. Do they know and are they primed to expect these specific invitations? Or do they just wonder why they’ve been ‘randomly’ added to a room with a freelancer they haven’t invited?

I probably won’t pay attention to such a thing myself if I was a client.

Hoping one of the mods can shed some light into this.

Thanks!

So to answer your question: yes, clients know when they have employed TS and that they are inviting freelancers on their behalf, and that they get added to the message room.

On another note: we've discussed on this forum ad nauseum that TS do a pretty terrible job of sending invites to the appropriate freelancers. I also have never had an invite from TS result in being hired (nor have I hired a freelancer invited by TS). TS take the unskilled route of blindly inviting freelancers who have tagged the same skills as the client did in their job post. Those skills may be relevant to the job but any number of freelancers in various fields may have those skills, meaning they may or may not do that type of work. Usually we hear that they do not (as reported on this forum).

You can opt out of TS invites. You have to contact CS and let them know.

Yeah ... do a forum search for "talent specialists" ... then you will want to opt out, as Amanda suggests. I don't think you'll be missing out.
