I want to ask those freelancers who created a "video introduction" for their profile. Did it help you in your Upwork career? Do you feel clients view it? Did it improve the discovery of your profile, increased your profile views and interviews, engagement with the clients in general? Is it worth shooting this video in your opinion?

It's funny that you asked this now, Anton! I attended a Talent Huddle the other day, and one of the freelancers shared that adding a video introduction to their profile and proposal has helped them gain more contracts. I think it's because of how we consume media nowadays - many people (and this is just my opinion) would rather see a video than read an article. I guess it also depends on how catchy the video is.
But I also believe a lot of the freelancers here have had great success with proposals. The proposals have to be catchy too to attract the client's attention.
What are your thoughts about it?

Good point about people's attention spans, Avery. Well, you didn't exactly say it that way, but I can see how video would appeal to a large segment of the population.

I didn't think of it that way, Jared! But I understand your point. 😄 I'm very visual and would rather see a movie than read a book (please don't crucify me, book lovers!). But when I hired talent for a personal project, I appreciated reading a proposal more. It was the way how they marketed themselves and how they convinced me to hire them without actually seeing them that made proposals appeal more to me. I am impressed with someone who can use their words to entice me to know more about them.
How about you? What do you prefer?
