A client just gave me a test to see if I'm a good fit before hiring. If it goes successful and I get hired, does it impact my JS score?

Don't do it. You won't get the job and you won't get paid for the test. Tell the client you will be happy to do the test for whatever price you both agree to but only if you have a formal Upwork contract in place. It is against Upwork's terms of service to ask for free work.
ETA: In answer to your question, it can only affect your JSS score (up or down) if there is a contract in place. But I still wouldn't take the risk of doing an unpaid test.
