Does the "Availability on" badge and profile "boost" really make a difference?

Does the "Availability on" badge and profile boost really make a difference, or is it just a gimmick by Upwork to drain connects?

I'm a Top Rated Plus freelancer, and I’m keenly looking for a project but haven’t been able to land one. Despite having a proven profile, I've turned on the Availability badge and even boosted my profile, yet I haven't seen any increase in profile views.

Is this feature actually effective, or is it just a strategy by Upwork to consume our connects? Am I missing something here?

I wouldn't call the Availabilty badge and profile boosting "gimmicks," but both are features that help Upwork generate income. Many freelancers have not seen positive results when turning on the Availability badge or when boosting their profiles, but I've heard some say their profile views increased a little.

Optimizing your profile might get more attention than the Availiability badge and boosting:

1) Correct the spelling of your title: Assistans Assistant AI API. Correctly spelling keywords is important for profile matches.

2) Remove emojis and unnecessary text at the beginning of your overview/summary:

Only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. You don't want to waste this valuable space on emojis, repeated words, or any unnecessary text.

3) Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. A job description is especially important when the job is highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork. Upwork uses keywords in job titles and descriptions to match you with relevant jobs.
