Hello,
A client asked for money he deposited in escrow to be returned ($500) I said I would return $100 and he agreed but I do not know if I can return just $100.
He has proposed he pays a bonus of $400 and I return all the money in escrow.
If I offer the send him $100 separately, can he ask Upwork to withdraw his request and release the money to me?
Main question: if I was to agree to the return of $500 (it represents a whole milestone) or $100 (if possible), will that affect my score and rating such as on an unfinished job? The client has already terminated the contract and he claims he gave me good feed-back.
Thanks

Hi Federico,
If you have a refund request, you can respond to your client's refund request but you won`t be able to adjust the amount from your end. The client has an option to adjust this from his end before he submits the refund request to you. At this point, the fastest solution would be for the client to issue a bonus and for you to approve the refund from Escrow.
Regarding your last question, the refund will not affect your JSS but the feedback left on the contract will be included in your JSS calculation.
If you have any additional questions feel free to post them here, thank you.

You can adjust the amount you would like to refund back to your client as well.To do this Open your closed contract > Click on the three dots > select Give a Refund. You will be taken to a new window where you can select an invoice and have the option to adjust the funds that you would like to refund.
NO!!!!!
This is not "Give a refund" which is ONLY for money he already has. This is about ESCROW FUNDS!

That is the perfect solution.

I`m sorry about the confusion Federico, Petra. I've updated my initial post with more relevant information about your case.

You also DELETED half my post. ANY REASON WHY?
First you give advice that could theoretically cost him $ 400 (by sending back $ 400 while $ 500 is still in Escrow) and then you edit and delete correct info from my post ?
"My case?" I don't have "a case"
