Elance and Upwork

Elance and Upwork.

There’s so many features that were on Elance that are not available on Upwork. Changing a job from hourly to a fixed rate is one of them. And there are a ton of bugs on Upwork. If you go to the message boards on Upwork almost all the messages are complaints about how Upwork doesn’t have the features that Elance has.

So, lets look at this another way. Lets not think of this as a merger, or even an acquisition. Lets look at this as Elance has gone bankrupt and is forever closing. I’m sure most of us have had a favorite restaurant or store or someplace close its doors for good. And we all thought, “there will never be another xxx as good as this one.” So, what do we do? We adapt, we go on, we look for another store or restaurant, not as good as the first, but it’ll do.

So, you don’t need to merge or migrate to upwork if you don’t like what it has to offer. There are other freelancer sites out there. Google to find out some of them. Look around at what they have to offer. Join and try them out, and if you like them, although they won’t match what Elance had, they are better than nothing, or perhaps better than Upwork.

It is difficult to find a established place like Upwork. Although, they have short comings in their system. They are working on it.
