Email links fail unless logged in

I'd like to make a suggestion that Upwork handles links in emails more effectively.

Any time the user is not already logged into their account, and they click on a link in an Upwork email, such as "Weekly Timelog" or "view this conversation" the link's destination is not retained post login. Instead I am sent to a default page, such as My Job Feed.

This behavior is recurring for me, at least on Safari 9.
