Ending a Contract - Freelancer closing

HI:

I want to end a contract.  I accepted it under a $ per hour rate.  BUT after I accepted it, the client now wants to pay me at per click rate, asked me to sign an exclusive, noncompete agreement  arrangement

I am obviously not comformtable with that arrangement and I havent signed the agreement.

I have read that if the Freelancer cancels the contract it hurts my score.   Is there a way to cancel this job?  Or should I jsut leave it there and maybe eventually the contract will go away.

Any advice is appreciated.

Only if nothing was ever paid or you ended up with poor feedback...

Make sure you track time when communicating with the client (who hired you under an hourly contract.)

So I'd track a 10 minute segment writing to the client explaining to them that they hired you under an hourly contract, so will be charged according to time spent working and that you decline to sign any agreements that were not in force when they hired you.

Is this a new client? He / She may just need a little guidance.
