Ending of Contract

If the job post says "less than one week", when hired, will it automatically end at the end of the week?

Or should the client manually end it.

Actually I have a client and his work was completed in two days. Then I asked him to end the contract and he hasn't bothered to reply.

I don't want to cling on to a contract that has no more value.

When I applied to the job, the post said "less than one week". So, will it automatically end at the end of the week?

No. Contracts end when either party ends them.

The only exception are fixed rate contracts with funds in Escrow. If nothing is paid out to the freelancer, Upwork closes the contract after 3 months and returns the money to the client.
