Hi all - just as a matter of interest, how do I buy connects with my balance on the platform, not pay by credit card?

Hi Elizabeth,

Before purchasing Connects or a membership plan, you’ll need to add a Billing Method to your account. There are three billing methods available to freelancers.

If you have sufficient balance available from Upwork earnings, you can use this balance to pay for an ongoing Freelancer Plus membership or purchase additional Connects. If your balance isn't sufficient, we'll charge your chosen billing method. You can find more information in this help article.

I have followed the steps as per support docs and they are quite simple
except, when I go into billing methods, nothing directs me to setting up
billing method. My card is already a primary, which I want to change asap,
and make my upwork balance primary. Should I just remove my card and Upwork
will automatically bill my balance? Also, no trace of a 'Make Primary Link'
button

Even if your primary method is set to the card. If you have enough balance to cover the purchase of connects or Plus membership, by default, Upwork will deduct from your available balance. 

Any shortfall will be charged to your primary card.
