This is my first experience working (or not yet?!) with an enterprise client.
Here's what happened: They sent an invite, I accepted the interview, then they sent an offer. Then, immediately, someone called a Classification Manager (CM) messaged me that they need to check this offer to see everything is fine before I accept it. A few minutes later, they tell me I can go ahead and accept it.
I go to the accept link and it lets me review the budget and I accept it. It's only when the contract is started that I notice the milestone isn't funded (facepalm!).
When I bring this to the notice of the CM, they very unhelpfully send me the link to the "getting paid on fixed price" article on Upwork.
So, I am stuck with an open contract, a 3-day turnaround, no escrow.
I know it's my fault - but accepting the offer was a little different. And I believed this was a safe contract with all that "accept only after we check" thing.
Should I be worried?

No, with Enterprise clients (ONLY) it's fine. They are on different terms. Do the work, you will get paid.
