Error when logging into the desktop app

Hey everyone!

 

I have a problem to log into the Desktop app (for Mac) - "An unknown error has occured". I haven't used the app in the last months and today I signed up for a project that requires to track my working hours for which I downloaded the app. I tried to restart my laptop, re-install the app, but nothing seems to work, I keep seeing the same error... 

 

Can you advice me what can I do?

Hi Desislava,

 

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please try the following steps:

  1. Exit the Upwork Desktop App from your system/device.
  2. Open the terminal app
  3. Then run this command> mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Upwork{,.bak}
  4. Then start again

Hey Aleksandar,

 

Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately that command didn't fix the issue. I pasted it into the Terminal app, re-started Upwork, ever restarted the laptop to perform the steps again, but it didn't work.

I am having the same error/ issue when logging in to my desktop app using a Macbook.

Could you please confirm if you tried the troubleshooting steps shared here:

  • Exit the Upwork Desktop App from your system/device.
  • Open the terminal app
  • Then run this command> mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Upwork{,.bak}
  • Then start again

Did they resolve this issue? Because I get this error too. I applied what they said but nothing happened.
