Europe transfer fee

I was getting my earnings to my Austrian bank account for 8 months. My bank was not charging any money for it. But they charged €9,62 for my last transfer.

Do you help me why did happen after 8 months? Does the Upwork change anything related to it? or is it related to my bank?

Could it be a currency conversion fee on your bank's end? Email your bank and ask.

I asked them, It was not the conversion fee. They said that they charge a fee from the UK because the UK is not EU anymore. But I thought the Upwork is based in the US. I nearly paid half of my earnings for this transaction. How it can be possible to work with Upwork in this situation?

Half of your earnings is 10 eur? I mean you should let your earnings accumulate for a while and transfer only when they are over a certain limit. There is no free meal. Bank transfers cost money either under currency rate differences or straight transfer fee.

Thank you for your comment. This topic is not related to the amount. I have been working with Upwork for over 7 months, my bank did not charge any fee from me before under "Sepa non-EU fee expenses".

Direct to local bank fee was $0.99 as stated below:

Hello Merve! Thank you for this post because it gives more explanations to a problem a few other of us Europeans have than any moderator has given us. Up until now transfers from Upwork have been handled from Ireland, which is, as you probably know, part of the EU. Now this week quite a few of us have not received their payment from last Friday at all and your post tells me that Upwork must have changed their payment methods from Irish banks to UK banks, and this might be at the bottom of this. So sorry about the problems you experienced and thank you for posting this problem here.
