Feature request - fixed price contracts with scheduled payments (no milestones)

Hi,

Some of my clients want to pay me a fixed price regardless of time I worked or incidents they had. And they want it to require minimal actions from their side, like make a contract, set the monthly re-occuring sum and date to be paid, and that's all. Then it should work automatically for both sides.

P.S. I understand there are questions with funds depositing, let it be configurable (number of days in advance, when it should be done). In my case I have no problems with no depositing at all, those are my long-term clients.

Any chances Upwork is already working on it?

Thanks for taking the time to share your suggestion. I'll pass this along to the appropriate team for review. Currently, we just have a weekly recurring payment on the Hourly contract. A weekly payment is an automatic, recurring payment for a specific amount. The client is invoiced this amount each week in addition to the billable hours, if any in your Work Diary. Unlike the hours you bill in your Work Diary, weekly payments do not undergo a review period, and they become available after the standard five-day security period. You can refer to this help page for more information.

Thank you very much for your answer! I did not know about the option. Did not notice when was recently reading KB articles. Actually I even contacted Support yesterday and it seems they did not know about that option too 🙂 (but still were very helpful, I got answers on many other questions). I guess we can use that option as a solution. 👍

Pradeep can the weekly payment be set on an existing hourly contract? Or it's possible only during a new contract creation?

Hi Alen,

Adding a Weekly Payment to a contract can only be done using the Advanced Options when creating the offer.
