Found client rude so I want to terminate the contract with them

Hi,
I’m recently hired in a hourly contract but when I made a clarification to the client about the project so I can deliver it error free, I found the client rude in his reply thats why I no longer want to proceed/ start the task, tried reaching out to them to terminate the contract instead however they are no longer responsive to this request. I know its quite unprofessional for me to do so but on my part I don’t want to stay under a client that I cannot tolerate even if compensation is okay, better to end it early than regret the consequences later. What shall I do? Can upwork mediate to this?

Can Upwork mediate?

 

No.

 

You need to do this yourself.

 

Just close the contract. Upwork is not going to do that for you.

 

Tell the client:

"Kevin,

I won't be able to this project for you. Your needs will be better met by hiring another freelancer."
