Dear all,
Is the assigned category influencing in any way the chances to be recruited ? If a client looks for a freelancer is there important the category of the freelancer ?
When I look at my stats I see that they reffer to Data Science & Analytics. However, my background is in finance&accounting. Is there any chance that I miss oportunites due to having assigned another category ? How was this categpry assigned ?
Thank you,
Bogdan

Bogdan,
You may find that the more categories you select, the more random your invitations and recommendations become. The last time I looked at this question, it seemed as if Upwork makes its matches based on the top-level category—which if true may bake randomness into the match process, even if you limit yourself to one category.
