Frustrated: This Should Be Simple

I am hoping a moderator can jump in and help, because I am beyond frustrated, as is my prospective client.  There seems to be an issue with what should be super simple: sending a job offer.

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted about a job by a talent specialist. I applied, and the client and I agreed to work together. At that point, she sent a job offer, but I wanted to make some changes to the offer. She agreed and sent a new offer with the changes, but it never came through. She kept trying, but the only offer that showed up was the old job one. I reached out for help through a support ticket, and they sent instructions to pass along to her, which she has followed to no avail.

I have reached out to support again, and she has continued to try. This is crazy and has never been an issue before! The latest result is that I got invited to her "team," but never got the job offer.  I wish there was a way that I could set up something on my end.

She is eager for me to start work; I am eager to begin, and we have wasted much time messaging back and forth and talking to support, trying to just to get the job set up. The advice from customer support has not helped us make it happen. If a moderator could step in and help, I would so appreciate it.  Client is ready.  Freelancer is ready.  But we are somehow stuck.

Decline whatever offer you have got. Then get the client to go to your profile and hit the "Hire Now" button and set up the contract from there.

When it comes through, accept.

Thanks so much!  Sounds like an easy fix.  I have messaged the client to try that.

Fingers crossed! Make sure you decline any offers first and let us know if it works.

Success! Thank you, Petra.

I agree sometimes there are clients that need help in actually putting together a job offer and setting it up, especially if they are new to Upwork.  We can propose new contracts to existing clients as far as I remember, but not a new client.  I am getting a lot of first-time clients the last couple of months and there were times where getting them to send the actual offer was a struggle.  It would be helpful to be able to propose an offer on our end and have the client accept, even for new clients.
