Getting started.Jobs for new freelancers.

Hey everyone, I am very excited about being a frelancer and the possible rewards. I really think this is a good way for me to earn some extra income. I haven't been hired yet and while I am patient I am still kinda worried that maybe I wont be. I really want to do my first job.

Hi Deon,

Welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

The first job is always the hardest to get. Take a look at this thread:

https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/Want-to-get-that-first-job-Then-check-this-out/m-p/21457...

But ...you really need to work on your profile, at the moment it is going to put potential clients off hiring you. The overview is full of mistakes, your test results are very poor, and you haven't bothered completing everything.

Read through the above, fix your profile, hide all the bad test results, then come back and let's take it from there.

My advice is that you focus on your approach first. Jobs don't always come right away - in my experience, I had to put in about 200 hours of "work" (between profile development, certification tests, independent research, portfolio creation, etc.) before landing my first "good" job. That's not to say I didn't have other "jobs" first - but they sucked and were borderline scammy.

Best of luck to you, and I hope it doesn't take you as long as it took me! ๐Ÿ™‚
