Giving Back ( I want to help ) - 10 People

I have been on Upwork (previously ELance / Odesk) for 12 years (my anniversary is in December : )

I want to GIVE BACK!

Here is what I am thinking:

I see many of you are new to the platform and are struggling to:

1. Setup the "Perfect Profile"

2. Putting together a strong proposal

3. Searching for jobs that fit your skill set and submitting your proposal (identify them)

4. Understanding the new Boost Feature and why it may be important

5. Follow up with potential clients

6. Communicating and other details after the job has been awarded.

My goal is to help 10 people a week, giving each one a 30 mins zoom call to ask me any question they would like.

My goal in 2023 is to help 1,000 people. I have been blessed in so many ways, time to give back,

I don't have a website, I don't have a YouTube channel, I have nothing to promote. I just want to help you : )

The best advice I can give to someone new to the platform is:

1. read all the rules, read the forum, watch the videos and learn.

2. setup and make sure that your profile is complete

3. study other freelancers in your niche, see what they are doing, etc

4. research certain keywords which you would use to find jobs which fit your skill set (seo, ppc, design, psd, etc)

5. start with smaller jobs, learn the process, flow, etc

6. build a history, feedback, it takes time

7. submit a lot of proposals, the game has changed, a lot of competition on here

8. keep learning, keep doing all of the baove

What is the best way to get a positive/prompt answer to my bids or do you recomend any specific details which I can be mention in my bids in order to get the response.

What I find works best is the following;

1. mention the client by name, at times, they will say their name and if not, look at the past feedback / history, others may

2. talk about the exact problem the client is happening and how you helped another client solve that issue

3. talk about how you have the skill set to solve that issue

4. bring up your feedback / history and experience

When the client replies, answer questions promptly and work to get the client on a zoom call.
