Having trouble uploading a photo

Been trying for hours to get a proper photo of myself uploaded for UpWork. Never have I used a service where they make it so difficult to upload a photo. It keeps giving me an error saying the software cannot detect my face and there is absolutely no override to change this. Reaching out to anybody who can help or understands the situation to possibly simplify for me?
