Help, can not submit proposals

Since yesterday I can not submit proposals. When I click on the Submit button all that appears is just the top half of my page. This has been going on since yesterday. It is UNACCEPTABLE.  I am losing, so far, 2 days of work.

 

Also, I can not access my proposals and active canadicies sections. It just loads and loads and loads.

 

Come on Upwork. ....2 DAYS already?

Honestly, why does one thing after the other get broken.... ๐Ÿ˜ž

 

Kathy, try this: Use a "virgin" browser window, preferably an anonymous one. Paste this link (for Proposals) into the url bar https://www.upwork.com/ab/proposals/

 

You can also try a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5 pressed together) to see if that clears any error stuck in your cache. Try a different browser. I find most things Upwork function best in Firefox most of the time, and in Chrome when not playing nicely in Firefox.

Petra -  I downloaded and installed Chrome. And yes, I can access everything with Chrome. But, and I'm really not being stubborn. but I use IE 11 for everything. And I know a lot of people hate IE. but I work fantastically with it All my favorites and add ons are on IE. I shouldn't have to load another browser just for the time I log into here.

 That becomes a hassle. especially if I need something that's associated with IE. 

 

I see that I'm not the only one with this problem either. And it shouldn't take 3+ days to fix it.

I know this problem has been asked recently on another thread - but could Upwork please inform its freelancers of the  browsers that  it is capable of supporting - not that many it would seem.

 

I hate Chrome and I will not use it. So far Firefox is OK - and I gave up on IE11 because although I liked it - more than liked it - it seemed that nobody else did.

 

Could someone official from Upwork please answer Kathy's question.

If yes, can you send me also a screenshot of what is showing when you try to submit a proposal.

You can use the screen shots the Dmitriy posted because that's Exactly what I'm getting.

Does it really take 3 days to fix this problem?

I don't know if this was announced. (and if not it defintely should be) Upwork no longer supports Internet Explorer. As they do system maintenance they are slowly updating pages and if you use IE you'll find that certain pages will begin to not work with an IE browser.

Upwork is continuously supporting Internet Explorer, and there are no known issues with the browser when I checked with the team.

 

Someone from the support team will reach out to you regarding this issue, and we would like to request that you specify which parts of the site are slow when you responde.

And as for known issues, there ARE issues and not only to me. I have communicated through e mail concerning it, And the ticket is NOT solved as the status indicates. Dmitriy also has the exact same problems. I have sent images of the what the problem is to John (through email) And Dmitriy has posted exact same images in a response to a post there.

 

I can not access since Thursday the page where my proposals are. It just loads and loads and loads forever. Also, I can not submit proposals. When I click on the submit button, all I get is the very top of the page.  Everything else, I can access with IE 11. It's just those 2 things.

I can't be any clearer then that and yet I'm getting, from customer services, about not being able to add attachments, and about IE running slow etc which has nothing to do with the 2 problems I'm experiencing. AND also from the reply Lena E gave me.

I merged your threads so that everything is in one place, and we can update everyone involved more efficiently. I checked and it seems that this has already been escalated to the proper teams for their investigation.

Avery, How about clarifying what Lena told me about Upwork not supporting IE anymore. And if it's true, why isn't Upwork announcing that? And if it's not true, why doesn't anyone know what anyone else is doing, and no one knows what the H*** is going on already.

Of all the Crazy things going on concerning Upwork, did anyone know that Upwork no longer supports IE (Internet Explorer) If you are using IE, and it is still working and you are still able to navagate throughout this site and load all the various pages and links, great, but as more and more updates are rolled out, those freelancers still using IE will find that that what they were able to access and navagate to, those links will no longer be available.

 

I wonder why no announcement was made.

IE has to die. In atrocious suffering.

Kathy, Rene is correct. IE has been on a long agonizing deathbed for a few years.  Switch to either Firefox or Chrome. I use both and from personal experience Chrome is the more reliable for U elated stuff.

It was already confirmed that Upwork supports (as best as anything can) IE.

 

The problem is that IE is not a proper browser. It is a nightmare and should only be used on a brand new computer to download a proper browser before being uninstalled immediately and permanently.

 

 

Yes; and they're probably using Windows XP too.

This problem is not just with the IE. The same problem happens in Opera and SeaMonkey.

The question arises: if the Upwork site worked well in the past in all browsers, why did the webmaster has need to change the code? Smiley Happy

I have the same problem as Kathy T have. I also prefer internet explorer. This problem occur most of the time. And it is really frustating.
