Help please - Upwork earnings are partially lost

Hi,

I am new to Upwork and got paid for my first project $25. The upwork fee was said to be somewhere below $5. Now I checked my account and there is only $12 baance left. What happened to the other $8 I earned. I didn't buy connects, I didn't withdraw any money either. I need to know what happened to the lost $8 ..? Why I do not have $20 availble balance in my account from the $25 I earned.

Hi Msm,

When your payment request is approved the funds will become available on your account after our 5 days security period is completed. 
To view in what stage your earnings are, go to Reports > Overview. Thank you.

Sorry for the ignorance as I am completely new to the Upwork platform, received assistance and I agree.. Will wait for the billing date to get the remainder processed. Thank you
