Hirers asking to contact on Telegram

I just got an offer in Upwork from a data entry and typing post and she asked me to connect on Telegram. I humbly rejected it saying it would be better if we talked on the Upwork platform itself, but she hasn't replied since. I also searched about the hirer on google and she has a Facebook account showing vacancies on them and to follow amd message the same link. I needed guidance as I am new to Upwork, should I believe her as this is my first job? The payment is verified but shown to be 0$ in spent.

You did all right. Never contact outside without contract. Continue to look for legal clients, not scamers. You will found them soon.
