Hi, everyone!

I'm and agency owner and I have several exclusive freelancers. Is there a way or a condition for them to become non-exclusive without my permission?

Hi Nikita,

Your agency members can set their membership as non exclusive or use the option to leave the agency from their account.

What's the purpose of exclusiveness then?

can they change status and leave agency while on a contract?

Hi Nikita,

Exclusive agency members work on Upwork only as part of an agency. Their profiles and proposals will be branded with the agency to make the agency’s part in the work relationship clear to the clients.

Non-exclusive agency members can work on Upwork independently and as part of an agency. Users will be able to switch from exclusive to non-exclusive at any time, but the contract stays under the agency.

That's means that is not point to have an agency because they can leave and work by their own. They can submit proposals, talk with the client, do everything. The only difference is that the agency will received the money. Is that correct?
