How can I Refund Amount with Zero Balance in Account

Hello!

I have to refund a few dollars to my client after mutual understanding but unfortunately, by the time I saw this refund request, I had already withdrawn payment from Upwork and my current balance is insufficient to make this refund.

The job was completed on a good note and with positive feedback. But I feel awkward having to process this refund with a delay already now. Please help me, how can I refund a certain amount to my client with zero balance?

You need to wait until you earn some more money. Then you can refund it to that client.

I know you feel awkward, but you just need to be honest with him.

Upwork doesn't allow you to send money directly. You could lose your profile if you did that. The client could lose his account if he accepted that. So you just need to wait until you earn some money, and then you can issue a refund to the client.
