How do I close/delete my account?

Hello. I made a profile on Upwork. When trying to cancel, I get

I want to be able to fix it myself without being forced towards a phone number.

Hi Vikram,

 

If you'd like to close your account, first make sure you withdraw any active proposals on your Proposals page

complete and close any active contracts and don't have any available or pending balance. Then you can close your account by visiting this page. For more information and detailed steps, please visit this help article.


As a gentle reminder, please know that you will not be allowed to create a new account. If you need to use your Upwork account again in the future, you can reach out to us through our different support channels, and we will assist you with reinstating your account.

I am writing to request the immediate deletion of all accounts associated with my identity. I recently discovered that an account was created in my name without my permission while I was working with an agency. This situation has caused me a great deal of concern.

 

I have since left the agency and wish to ensure that no unauthorized accounts remain active. I kindly request your assistance in closing all such accounts linked to my information.

 

I am deeply worried about the potential implications of this situation and would greatly appreciate your prompt help in resolving this matter.

I am stepping in for Luiggi. It looks like the email address linked to the account in question has ongoing support ticket. Could you please try checking your registered email address? You should be able to find a notification about your ticket in your inbox and view our team's message from there. Replying to the email will also reach our team so they can assist you further.

You need to wait for Customer Support to reply to your Support ticket. There is nothing anyone can do here.

I want to officially request that upwork deletes account, emails, phone numbers and any other information they have on file. I have not participated in any jobs or hired anyone from upwork, just need my account deleted (not closed but completely deleted). Does anyone know how can I send my request?

I have the same problem i didn't finish the profile setting and i didn't do any work. I want to permanently delete the account but the website only offers close account. I already fill the form for data delete but I want delete the account.
