To have hired you the client must already have added a credit card. The instructions for verifying are on that screen.
The process is pretty self-explanatory.
- The client adds their credit card
- Upwork charges them 2 small amounts, which together add up to $ 10.00
- The client checks their online banking (or calls the bank) and finds the two amounts
- The client goes to his billing method in Upwork and enters the 2 small amounts
